Nicola Porpora, born in Naples, teacher to the greatest singers of Europe (including Farinelli) and competition to Handel in London exerted influence in Naples, Venice, London and Vienna. Handel was his competition and Haydn was his lackey. No composer wrote more beautifully for the voice and his cello concerto is a little known masterwork or lyricism. Join Loretta with Pascale Beaudin and the Four Nations Ensemble in this tour of 18th century musical Europe with Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn and Porpora.
