The Fairy Queen

Don Franklin, PhD

Professor emeritus at The University of Pittsburgh has provided international leadership in understanding the music of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. From his service as president of the American Bach Society, to holding professorships at leading universities in the Germany and the United States, to his numerous publications exploring performance practice issues in 17th and 18th-century music, including the music of Henry Purcell, Franklin has left an indelible mark on his field.

Chatham Baroque

“One of Pittsburgh’s greatest treasures” says the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Chatham Baroque continues to excite local, national, and international audiences with dazzling technique and lively interpretations of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music played on instruments of the period. Founded in 1990, the ensemble offers audiences the opportunity to hear baroque music that is accessible and thrillingly vivid, with a freshness akin to improvisational jazz.

Rebecca Rollett and The Pittsburgh Camerata

A native of New Mexico, Rebecca Rollett is Artistic Director of The Pittsburgh Camerata. Before moving to Pittsburgh, Ms. Rollett directed the chamber choral ensemble Coro de Cámara. She has also directed the Chamber Singers of the Chorus of Santa Fe and served as Principal Keyboard of the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra. The Pittsburgh Camerata is a professional chamber choir of selectively chosen singers performing choral works both sacred and secular. The ensemble’s schedule includes a 10-concert public subscription series presented annually throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. The group has also recorded three compact discs and tours the Tri-State region.
